Overview:

The Accounts Professional is responsible for maintaining the financial health of the organization by managing accounting tasks, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role involves recording and analyzing financial transactions, managing budgets, and providing insights to support decision-making.

Role & responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and invoices.
  • Record all financial transactions in the accounting system, ensuring that all entries are accurate and properly classified.
  • Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, receivables, and payables, on a regular basis.
  • Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Generate reports on financial performance, including budget vs. actual analysis, variance analysis, and financial forecasts.
  • Manage the accounts receivable process, including invoicing clients, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure that all payables and receivables are managed efficiently.
  • Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, and ensure that the company’s tax practices are compliant.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits, providing auditors with the necessary documentation and information & maintaining petty cash for a project.
