Overview:
The Testing Lab Incharge is responsible for overseeing the operations of a construction materials testing laboratory, ensuring that all testing procedures are carried out accurately and efficiently. This role involves supervising lab staff, managing equipment, and ensuring that all test results meet project specifications and industry standards. The Testing Lab Incharge plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and durability of materials used in construction projects.
Role & responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the construction materials testing lab, ensuring all tests are performed according to established protocols.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for testing concrete, soil, asphalt, aggregates, and other construction materials.
- Ensure that testing schedules align with project timelines, minimizing delays in construction activities.
- Ensure all materials tested meet the required quality standards and project specifications.
- Monitor and verify the accuracy of test results, conducting regular quality checks and audits.
- Implement corrective actions when test results indicate non-compliance with standards.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and in good working condition.
- Manage the inventory of lab supplies, including reagents, chemicals, and consumables, to ensure continuous operation without interruptions.
- Coordinate with suppliers for the timely procurement of materials and equipment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all testing activities, including test results, calibration records, and equipment maintenance logs.
