Overview:
The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing and overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities on construction projects. This role involves developing quality plans, conducting inspections, and ensuring that all construction work adheres to the project’s specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. The QA/QC Engineer plays a crucial role in preventing defects and ensuring the delivery of high-quality construction work.
Role & responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the project-specific QA/QC plan, procedures, and inspection protocols.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and standards to ensure all quality requirements are understood and met.
- Conduct regular inspections of materials, equipment, and construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Oversee and coordinate testing of construction materials (e.g., concrete, steel) and ensure all tests are documented and meet the required standards.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all inspections, tests, and quality control activities.
- Prepare and submit quality reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action reports (CARs) as needed.
- Identify and document any deviations from the project specifications or standards.
- Investigate the root cause of non-conformances and work with project teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure that all QA/QC activities are conducted in accordance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
